Ramadan Mubarak! I hope you and your loved ones are doing well.
Am I the only one who wanted to avoid setting goals for 2024 in at the beginning of January because I know all too well that those goals would evaporate 2 weeks into the new year? No... just me?
Well, I say Ramadan is a good place to start!
I apologize for the unannounced hiatus I have been on. Life is truly a hectic rollercoaster full of ups and downs. Alhamdulillah, I feel like things are currently leveling out... for now.
Although I have been MIA in the digital space, I have found myself standing in front of different groups of Muslims educating them on Islamic personal finance topics. Every session I give brings me immense joy and reaffirms that this is something I love doing and plan to continue doing, Insha'Allah. Below are the captured moments that I treasure:
I am back! To remain accountable I will list out some of my goals for "My Finance Sis" this year and hopefully, we can all come back to this post in a few months and check in to see if I am actually accomplishing any of these things.
Publish at least 3 blogs monthly
Produce one long form video monthly
Reach out to Islamic organizations in NYC (potentially beyond) to host personal finance sessions live
Launch 401(k) purification calculator
Host FREE weekly office hours for one off conversations with individuals with personal finance questions (Keep in mind I do not give financial advice, I only educate you on your options that are halal, Insha'Allah)
Alright, I will keep it at five since that is my favorite number and I think it is reasonable given all of my other responsibilities.
For those who are still along for the journey, I truly appreciate you! As the year progresses, I will show my appreciation with amazing offers and content that you will hopefully find useful.
If you know any organizations that cater to a Muslim population or you want to host a private finance session with your friends and family, please reach out to askmyfinancesis@gmail.com or message me on Instagram @myfinancesis. Jazakillah!
